Paradise Point | on the E side of New River in central Onslow County. Named for a former owner of the area. Now within Camp Lejeune Marine Base. Local tradition says that the home of David Simmons was there, and that he had several daughters widely known for their charms and beauty. Lovesick beaux called the place Paradise Point. |
